A bit about the Culture Situated just west of the International Date Line and east of Fiji, Tonga is the only Polynesian country never to have been colonized, and is the only remaining Kingdom in the South Pacific. Democratic reforms are promising a bright future for the Tongan people. A proud, independent nation with a rich cultural history and breathtaking beauty. Its isolation finds it relatively untouched by commercial development. |
